Reduce Emissions and Increase Efficiency with SAACKE Green Ship Technology

Marine Systems

SAACKE GmbH is one of the leading companies in the world for industrial and maritime power generation facilities. Worldwide, SAACKE employs approximately 1100 people and generated sales of 158 million euros in 2016.

The company has international production sites in Croatia and China, as well as a worldwide sales and service network. The headquarters, central production, and the Research and Development unit of SAACKE GmbH are located in Bremen.

The SAACKE product portfolio includes firing and power generation systems, control software, web-based software solutions for maintenance, system engineering (including flow and combustion simulations), and the modernization of existing plants for improved energy efficiency.

Marine applications: Complete energy systems from a single source

For the maritime industry, the company offers customized complete combustion systems including Marine Boiler Systems, ensuring energy-efficient operation and compliance with the IMO emission regulations. SAACKE systems for shipping include heat generation and Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems – both for conversions or new buildings. The hybrid Multistream Scrubber System, based on the preliminary dry separation of the soot, was first installed in 2013 on the tanker MT Levana.

Products of the Bremen-based company have been installed on numerous ferries, container ships and cruise ships. In addition, SAACKE equips FPSO platforms and LNG carriers with energy systems whose core product is the combustion system. For example, the specially developed Gas Combustion Unit (GCU) enables the safe transport of liquefied natural gas and low-emission combustion of boil-off gases.

„For more than 80 years Saacke GmbH is a supplier for heat plants for the maritime and offshore industry. The globalised market requires a wide prominent appearance of the German industry.

Next to the technical solutions project financing gets particular attention. And that is exactly where GeMaX comes in: the initiative opens new sales channels for the German maritime industry and increases simultaneously our degree of brand awareness.“
